No bake energy balls. They sound healthy and like some super athlete would be eating them at 5am. Instead, I am here at 10pm on a Saturday night, lounging on my couch, in my mellow yellow pajames, eating them like candy. They are so yummy. They should be a desert, not some healthy energy ball.
Now keep in mind you can make these much healthier than I did but a girl's gotta have a little bit of chocolate right?
Here is the recipe that I used. Feel free to deviate and I'll show you where the healthier bits are added in.
No-bake Energy Balls
1/2 cup peanut butter (you can use any nut or seed butter)
1/3 cup honey
1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
2 tbl flour (the original recipe called for a cup of shredded coconut but you can replace with really any dry ingredient you want. it helps to bind everything together.)
1/2 tsp salt (i used sea salt but if you are watching your sodium you can omit)
1 tsp brown sugar
1/2 chocolate chips (you can sub chocolate chips for fruit or any type of nut to make it healthier)
Mix all of your ingredients together.
Form into balls and place on a cookie sheet in the freezer.
Once frozen, store in the refrigerator. They should last a couple weeks. If you don't eat them all before then.
