Organic Cleaners

Now during my last post I mentioned trying organic cleaners. Man do they rock!

Today is my day off from CPC. I have Wednesday's off which is perfect for me. I always hit this midweek slump that makes me not want to do anything. Well being home I made this giant to-do list. Cleaning the house was on that to-do list. What better time to try out my new cleaners?

I cleaned the bathroom, the kitchen, tables, mirrors, counters... you get the point. The basic cleaner that I got from my friends coleman's in love, this is her recipe. Again, go there.

Make it.

Love it!

I said before that I added lavender oil to my basic cleaner. I used it on my mirrors today and it worked wonderfully. Warning: as you're cleaning you are going to see this haze everywhere. You're going to think, wow Tussing, you steered me wrong! This is so bad. Wrong! It completely clears up. Totally streak free, haze free, just clean, good looking glass.

Deep cleaner was exactly Mindy's recipe. I used it on my counters and let me tell ya. There was some gross caked on crap, like I think some ranch from a week ago? Gross, I know. Don't judge though! I cleaned today and now my counters are gross free and so clean they are sparkling.

Now that I've finished raving about coleman's in love, I have two more things I need to rave about.

The first is laundry detergent. Now, I didn't exactly make this one. My friend over at The Johnston'sHomemade Laundry Detergent. This will sound very familiar. made this and graciously gave me some. I've used it all day on my clothes and sheets. Wow, does it smell clean and work wonders! Here is her recipe:

Go there.

Make this.

Love it!

Alright, now the last thing I want to tell you about is a "bath, sink, tile cleaner". Now I want to say that I love my hubby very much. I love you sweetie! next time you're in trouble and don't want to be in trouble try calling your hubby sweetie. i'll let you know if it works. Something about him make the shower dirty. Everyone is dirty but I mean that the bottom of our shower turns gross and dark after about a month. still love you sweetie! Well I threw some of this stuff on and bam! Clean shower! There was this build up of soap scum on the glass door, again don't judge for my lack of cleaning, and this cut right through it like butter. I used a rag but a hard brush could do wonders!

Originally found here:
2/3 cup baking soda
1/2 cup castile soap
2 tablespoons vinegar
1/2 cup water
Few drops tea tree oil i used about 5 drops

Mix them all together. The website says to use a squirt bottle because it's a paste. I didn't think it was a paste. More like a thick liquid. Runnier than a milkshake but thicker than water. I made it in a mason jar and just poured some out. No need to buy more containers. Now if you make it and walk away you are going to come back to a separation of layers. Just give it a good shake and you're good to go again.

Now all the cleaners that I've tried you now know about. They all work great so that's why I'm telling you! Go my blog readers, make these cleaners, follow the two blogs that I mentioned, and call it a good day.

First Day of School

It seems like everyone is going back to school! Jaxon started preschool this last week. He actually went for a few months last school year but this is his first "first day of schoool" experience. Everyone has asked how he's doing and it's kind of funny. The question almost seems odd to me. He LOVES school. He gets to go outside of the house for 2 hours, 3 days a week and see his friends and play with his teachers. Yes, I understand it's school and he's learning, but at preschool age it's a lot of fun for him. Here's some fun photos from his first day. How cute is he with his little backpack? They had this adorable little photo booth for kids on their first day. I tried to get him to pose so I could read the sign. Of course the sign turned into a bird. What can I do. I tried. Jaxon posed with his teacher. She's so sweet, it's her first year teaching and she reminds me of gum drops and rainbows and puppy dog tails. Everythi...

2 Year Anniversary

May 15th is our anniversary. For out two year anniversary we went to the Grand Canyon. It really couldn't have been greater. Here are some of the pictures from this past weekend. This was our cabin and the view from our window We learned how to lasso and saw tadpoles Relaxed and enjoyed the view I do have some travel tips for you. If a place if called "Out of this World", you really should stop and try their food. Eat a burger, take a picture, order a cake (try to be better than me and snap a picture before you scarf it down), also, order a pizza to take back to your room. It'll be worth it. Trust me.

Pake

When did life change so much? One kid become two? Stay at mom become stay at mom and worker? Errands become errands and more errands because they are never finished? Seven become seven and eleven? Wait... I may have gotten a little off track with that last one. Life is always so crazy it seems that one you finally get used to it, something changes. That's what pake is. Something you're not used to but it can totally work. A pake: half pie, half cake. Don't worry, we're not talking apple pie with frosting. It's a pie crust with red velvet cake and cream cheese frosting. Now this is a learning lesson. The original recipe I used is from  Lifetime . It was originally made on a show called "Drop Dead Diva". Total chic show but it was fun. The only thing it that whatever world they cook in, cakes rise several inches. Here in the normal world? Not so much. I've modified the recipe slightly below. Ingredients: Pie Crust - Either make your own or ...
